Hey guys I'm about to pull the trigger on another Lightning. I haven't been on here in some time so I wanted to say hello first and also ask for some advice before I purchase. Here is the truck I'm looking at. Any general opinions on it?

It doesn't look like much was missed on this truck. I was talking to the owner and he said since all we have is 91 octane that they could swap to a smaller lower pulley and it should be fine until I get the tune adjusted :icon_question:. JDM tuned the truck and they said the street tune is conservative but there is obviously a different DA here. I will be driving it back if everything goes through. Let me know what y'all think!

Well I bought the truck Tuesday and got home late Wednesday night. Truck drove great from South Carolina all the way to Oklahoma. No issues and cranked every time. The truck is tuned for an 8lb lower but was swapped to the 6lb before I drove back. I'm running 101 in it now so I would like to switch back to the 8lb lower pulley. With the quick change setup is all I need to do is unbolt the 6 nuts from the lower ring and replace with the 8lb ring? What # should I tighten the bolts to? Also should I use blue loctite when I tighten the bolts back. It currently has a 3.4 upper which I will be leaving on. Any direction or how to on this would be great or if someone cold point me to a thread that would be great to.

On another note I raced my brothers whippled cobra. We went from a 35 roll to about 90-100. he pulled me by about 1.5-2 cars but I was spinning really bad and he hooked pretty hard. Truck has the regular Nitto 555's on the back and they don't hook for chit.

Sweet.. congrats.. get the Nitto 555R's.. drag radials.. they make all the difference.. they just wear out a LOT faster.

Thanks Dana!

Pulley swap went good. I'm thinking about putting the 3.2 upper on. I have the 3.4/3.2/3.0/2.7 upper pulleys. Right now it has the 3.4 on. don't know if it will be ok for the street. Timing is at 12* on the first tune and 14* on the second. I don't drive fast everytime I'm going somewhere so I'm thinking it may be fine. Should be about 18-19 lbs of boost correct? I'm running straight 101 fuel but I was thinking of mixing with the 91 as it will be a little cheaper and drop the octane somewhere around 93. I might do a 4 to 1 mix maybe a little more 101 to be safe. What range do y'all feel the a/f ratio should be in?

Probably should read this thread. Some good pulley suggestions...

IMO, 18/19 pounds of boost is asking for trouble, especially if you plan on playing with the fuel mix. Low 11 AF is probably OK for warm weather. but if I were you I would de-tune the heck out of that truck if you are going to drive it on the road much.

18 psi with anything less than 110 is boom IMHO.

Thanks guys! I'm at 15-16 lbs of boost and A/F is low 11 right now. 8lb lower and 3.4 upper with 12* of timing. I think I will just keep it like that. Plenty fast right now :tu: I haven't noticed any detonation but the truck is loud and it's hard to hear
