Lightning Shootout Oct 22 Northstar

Come one come all!! October 22nd we will be having a Lightning shootout at Northstar drag strip in Denton Tx. There will be two classes:

Lightning Street tire shootout. This class is for oem style and size street tire trucks. Heads up run what you brung. But makes sure it's on an oem street tire.

Lightning Pro truck. This class is "anything goes" no restrictions, heads up action. We could also include some grudge racing if we need to settle any disputes.:D

You can run in one or both classes. There will be a $5 1st round buy back if you needed. The buy back $$ will go to the winner of each class. Gates open at 6pm and closed at 12 midnight. We'll have a racer's meeting to discuss rules, lanes, times, ect. around 6:30pm (if needed).

Please post up if you are racing or watching.

The street tire class is for true street tires. No DR, street slicks, et street ect. This is the way we ran it last time. But if you guys want to let any tire other than slicks run in the street class,thats cool with me. We all need to agree before the 22nd.

It means you don't leave the line until the guy guys moves. It's about a 3 tenth of a second head start.

Tru but then again if the guy on Drags cant drive or he spins them tires of the line then theres no way he will get close go the guy on street tires that gets the jump first. Remember this is a 1/8 mile track no 1/4 :tu:

Thanks. The answer to your 1st question is HELL NO LOL! I can spin my tires at 60mph if i punch it :icon_eek: The Nitto 555DR is a great tire with good traction though, you just got to heat them up real good for racing :tu:

I just checked the hour by hour weather forecast.. it doesnt look good boys.. the chance of rain starting at 6p is 50% and its pretty much 30% starting early in the morning.. If i were you i make sure you show up dont make tickets stop you unles is a warrant all ready then yes go take care of it if not you have 11 to 14 days to show up and tell them what you want to do also they will give you monthly and weekly payments so come on.:tu:

what a crazy night the rain stayed away then all of a sudden it was poring. dam sham about shiners truck. hope its fixed up soon and good to go by the next time we all g2g.

Big thanks to everyone who helped push, pull, load and get my truck home. Especially John and Terry for haul'n and shop use. Can't ask for a better bunch of L brothers. It was nice to meet new L and HD friends as well. Sorry it didn't last longer.:d

PS.. First time my folks come out to see a race and what happens??? I blow my chit up!!!!!:rll:

It was a good turn out, about 12-15 trucks. Damn rain came out of nowhere then stopped.:confused: I hope we can have more trucks next week. I'll start a new thread for next weeks show down.
