We just got back home from the Texas Mile. It was a blast. We saw a guy wad a half million dollar lambo. He popped chute at 235mph in a 20mph full value cross wind... Went Dukes of Hazzard style over a 3ft berm of dirt and cart wheeled 4 times. He did walk away though.
My first and only pass was a meager 175.9 in a heavy gusty cross wind. Donnie was able to get a 183.5 or so as the clutch went away on a first morning run. So that was it for the Zo6. There were a lot of 200+ Ford GT's and lambos, a few 180+ Shelby 500's, 3 Lightnings one did 174, one did 165. A bike set a record of 274. Lots of Busa's running low 200's. The new CTS V's were gear limited to 176 in 5th...

We are going back in March. New clutch, a few more safety items and a little more work to the motor. Hoping to break 190 on motor. Should be better weather, with no crosswinds.
They had a couple of trucks in the 190 range. The lightning and an old chevy.

What gets me is why he needed a chute to slow down, is there not enough run out room?

He and his buddies made several 230-240 passes with no chute. I guess he was concerned, there is only a half mile shutdown. A 240mph Supra shot out in the dirt earlier he didn't have much for brakes. All the Super cars could slow down, GT's etc... He used very bad judgement between going top speed in high cross winds to popping his chute in the same cross wind. He has a history of doing this though...
As they say "You can't fix stupid"

I say he may know what he is doing in a business way to be able to afford that car. I say jealously to the forums.
It is the privilege of the rich to be stupid, we just don't have the same privilege so we are jealous.;)

No, I mean several people on other boards have seen him do other very stupid things. This one just happened to get expensive.
But hey, if he can afford it more power to him...
