Is there anyway of checking each individual coil pack to find out if it is working correctly? I am very tired of the hiccup with my truck as again happened twice today.
Mark.

Usually what I would do is, leave the truck running, unplug each coil one at a time. If u unplug one and the truck starts to idle rough, then that one is GOOD. Connect it back and on to the next coil, when u unplung that coil, and the idle doesn't change, then its most likely that one coil that's messed up. If the idle on the coil u unplugged changes, then that coil is good. But when u unplug one coil and the idle doesn't change, then u might want to check that coil or replace it after you've gone through all. Or u can just drive it around until the check engine light comes on and head to autozone to see what codes are wrong with it. I had this problem before when I had gotten water in one of my coils. Hopefully this works, I've been lucky enough for my c.e.l to come on right away.
