It is time to change the oil for the first time on my truck. I would like to go the synthetic route. Mobil 1, Royal Purple or Castrol, and which weight or stick with what good ole Ford recommends?
Thanks Mark.

Mobil 1, 5/30
+1, however, this is one of those opinion kind of things.. some will say their oil is better or last longer or something.. thing is, Mobil 1 works and its readily available.

I used Mobil 1 in my L., but I'm also a big believer in Blackstone Labs. Their take on oil - "Use some. Doesn't matter what kind, just put it in there and change it at reasonable intervals. They find no advantage to synthetics/synthetic blends/premium brands".
I recently sent in a sample on my Tundra after it turned 100k. Their response - "Looks great. Obviously working well for you. Send us another sample after the next 100k miles."

Thanks. All of the oils listed are available to me, but mobil 1 seems to be what I will use. The price is the same for all. I will use 5-30 as can get that for $45.00 per case. Thanks guys and gals.
Mark.
