I do for sure....my truck is my daily driver. Luckily we were closed today so she stayed in the garage, hopefully tomorrow we have some snow to melt this or maybe we'll close again....either way, I'm dreading taking it out in this.

I dont mind it so much.. but I lived in Erie, Pa for almost 6 yrs and enjoyed it.. it can get old if its bad for several months, but otherwise makes for a nice break from the usual.. I wouldnt want to be driving the L out in it.. that would be dangerous to me.

Yea a L in this would suck. I would not even chance it. There are way too many idiots out there that think they can drive in this.

Keys for me yesterday

don't use brakes

drive 15 to 25 mph

plan route to minimize trouble spots- i.e. hills, bridges....

If you are driving the Focus, it's not so good on ice because of the lack of weight, standard tranny, and low profile tires. But it is fun to drive...:D

AWD Merc Mountaineer has done pretty well.

Following Steve's tips is a good thing for sure!!:tu:

I did a 180 this morning on the way to work.. but no harm.. the AWD CTS is nice in these situations.. that AWD with traction control makes a real difference.

So you're saying you would have dona a 360 without the AWD?

maaaayyyybbeee... not really.. but it goes to show you even with AWD when you hit ice, nothing really matters unless you have studded snow tires.. but the AWD does help in taking off and in general over 2WD..

I can't believe the weather you guys are having. I lived there for 8 years and snow/ice never lasted more than a couple of days!

Kind of bummed that I'm missing this one, I'd be having a blast drifting in empty parking lots:banana:

Stay warm fellas!

88, the best year, the last year of this model.

I had an 87 back in the day, I loved it. I think the Blazers went to 89 and kept the square body, even though the trucks went to the newer aero design. The 89s had the 2 + 2 headlights horizontally instead of vertically like the prior models. My 87 had a 4" lift with 33x12.50 Michelin all terrain tires, Skyjacker softride suspension and the 5.7V8. Upgraded the motor to a mild built 4 bolt with carb, it would get up and go pretty well. Blew the stock rear end out so many times beating on it we finally put a Ford 9" in there with rear disc brakes. The 9" didn't have posi, but it never broke again! It got about the same mileage as my 03 HD Screw:rolleyes:

Anyway sorry for the hijack, just reliving my youth.....

We had a light dusting of ice in a few spots here Monday Night after I got off work. Tuesday evening we had over a 12 inch's of snow. Today it was -4 without the windchill. More snow is on the way Monday/Tuesday. Should only be just a light dusting of 1-3 inch's this time around.

Dana, my AWD DD Explorer is doing just fine in the snow here as well as on the slippery parking lot Monday night. Wed. morning made it through a foot of snow at work since the Guy had not got the lot cleared yet. No issues at all. Did get a little fish tail in a few spots.

We have 5" in Arlington and still coming down. I got a call in the middle of the night to pick up a sick step daughter at a friends house- it was cool cutting the first tracks through at 3:45am.

Only had a couple of inches at the compound this morning when I left, but we've had about 6" at work.

It snowed 1/4 to 1/2 inch here and shut San Antonio down. Getting to work was a challenge. The truck was sliding everywhere. It took me 45 minutes to go 11 miles to work.

This isn't my truck, it was just part of the cluster on the road here.
