Mitchell labor guide quotes 8.6 hours to remove and replace both cams. Typical labor rates are from 110-80 and hour at an independent shop. At 350.00 you are getting a steal as far as labor goes.

But the motor is not in the truck and I can take just the heads to have them installed. The motor is on an engine stand right now.

Did you pull the motor yourself? If so i am pretty confident you could install cams on a 5.4 on your own.

Edit: 350.00 seems pretty steep to me for just taking the towers off, laying down cams, and installing the towers back down. Assuming you arent having any other work done ie. springs, lifters, etc.

No I went and picked it up this weekend. MMR 800 but the orignal owner sold the Stage 3 cams and put stockers back in. It already has all the up graded ARP springs, lifter ect... Thats why I was thinking it was a littel steep. I need Terry to come up for a weekend!! lol

Not bad! There is a guy in Denton that may do them for $200. I hope to get the cams next week and then I will give him a call to set something up.
