should you be able to spin one (either ported or not) by hand very freely when it's not on the engine?

i picked up a steggy that appears to be just rebuilt (7,000 miles), but doesn't spin as freely as the one with 130k miles i just pulled off. the fresh one takes two hands to spin...since it was used, i'm now wondering if i should have it checked out.

thanks~

Yes they spin freely.
Very freely, barely touching, it should turn and quietly.

blower was shipped back to steigmeier yesterday for inspection/service. after speaking with them on the phone, sounds like the unit was damaged during shipment. apparently, when they send one out, they put a cardboard protector around the snout to prevent it from being damaged (pushed in). thanks for your input guys & happy birthday Terry ~
