Need to replace my shocks. looking for a good performance shock. I don't take the truck to the strip, might in the future. Looking for a shock that might have a softer ride than the nitro shocks that are on there now, but still good at the strip. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

QA1's are the best we have used, they are adjustable from road race stiff to Cadillac soft.

Just the man I was hoping would chime in. I was looking at the QA1's or the Edlebrock with the IAS. Do you know of anyone who has used the Edlebrocks?

I put the Edelbrocks on an old Ford I had.. they were better but still felt a bit soft.. that could be because most folks want them that way to get a nice ride.. but they do stiffen up like they say.. however, outside of the stock shocks, Terry is right, EVERYONE I hear from say the QA1's are the way to go.

If it isn't adjustable you won't be happy. All commercial shocks start out too firm or soft and fade from there. The stock Bilstiens are the best compromise for out of the box fixed valving. Hotchkis was selling custom valved Bilstiens I think...

I had the IAS on my Gen1 & honestly, in my opinion the damn things are dangerous! At highway speeds, if there was a rough bridge seam, the truck wanted to go airborne. Now add a curve to the mix & you can see where they were dangerous. I personally would not recommend those to my worst enemy. Just my .02 for what it's worth.
