Anyone have a hookup on Seiko watches? I'm looking for a particular Seiko model (Prospex SBCM023), and of course it's been discontinued. I found one in the US and it's $459,which is nearly double what that watch should cost new. I'm trying to contact a couple of places in Japan that seem to have them in stock, but what with my poor Japanese ...........

Found one. Quite literally searched all over the world, had a guy in Nigeria try to scam me, nearly found one in Japan, and just missed one in Vancouver, B.C.. Finally found a brand new one in Ft. Leavenworth, Ks. Arrived Friday. Worth the search. Lots of reviewers think this is the best quartz diver under $1k. And it has the now discontinued super accurate Seiko 8F35 movement.

I lusted after a Rolex Submariner for many years, finally bought one, and was terribly disappointed. Someone finally told me that Rolex's (and for that matter, any mechanical/automatic watch) aren't timepieces, they're jewelry that kinda' sorta' keeps time. For an accurate timepiece you can't beat a battery operated quartz watch. I sold the Rolex and bought a $150 Seiko that I was far, far happier with. My old Seiko that this SBCM023 is replacing stays within one second per month. Now that's a watch!
