so my truck has been acting up on the last month or so. ive had problems with idle. when first starting at cold start nothing happens when i drive around for a while and it gets to opperating temp. and get on it aitlle the dam thing pops aserious high idle and feels like it not in overdrive. and to fix that problem i slap the gas pedal and it drops down a little. but when i make it to a stop light it will try dieing and i have to keep giving it gas so it wont die. i have ve been trowuing money at it left and right going to get codes read. ive gone threw 2 tps sensors and now just replaced my IAC (idle control value) and still its not back to normal.

thats my problem and i was seeing if any of u gen1 or 2 guys have any experience diagnosing something like this . im still new to this truck and i am absolutely stumped on this one. thanks tommy

If you get a chance, come on by. I can read the codes & we'll take it from there.

Have you checked the FPR, vac line to it & the vac line to the MAP?

Thanks Steve, you are a good man. I was also thinking vacuum to the Map sensor but had not thought of the line to the FPR. I have also seen a truck go through 3 TPS switches that were reading proper voltage after the install but went bad afterwards. The other thing is to reset the TPS voltage down to around .90 instead of .99. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Ole Sixpipes got to drive it while he was out here so it would be good to get his impressions on it. It scares me still and I still haven't put the pedal down for very long. We were talking about your BB imitation on the Tour. They had a contest where folks gave their BB imitations and they weren't even close to yours. I am still trying to find that video. Any idea where it is? lol

The BB impersonation wasn't me... It was the other Steve, 99Whitebeast. I know the exact video you are talking about though. I thought that I saw it in the gallery some time back... I'll have to look for it. Steve, the 408 idle you did is probably the best I've seen!:tu:

Mullet... I should be free most evening after about 6:00. Either that or the weekend, (might be working Sat morning though) whichever works best for you.

If you got the cheaper version of the TPS switch, it can come and go. Hopefully you are out of the woods but don't count on it. Good luck! Thanks for giving us an update.
