Went out for a few early evening runs. 7.81, 7.83, 7.86, at 90, 91, 90mph. Pretty consistent right off the street on radials. 5 Corvette guys showed up together. Best I saw out of the group was an 8.0. Never saw them run anyone except themselves or some very slow cars/trucks. There was an orange Lotus Elise running pretty consistent 8.0 runs (my second run was against him). The Lotus broke down on his last run and was waiting for a tow when I left about 10PM. A lot of fast cars on trailers. The fastest car I saw was a rail that put down a 4.6 at 148mph. North Star is a nice facility. Think I'll take slicks next time. :icon_cool:

Nice times Dennis! Did you get a good look at your F/A on any of the runs?

Yeah, 60' times are important. Mine were 1.79, 1.83, 1.83 on M&H radials. The 390X17 M&H doesn't hold up to prolonged torture on heavy vehicles so I was not using all of my 2,800 stall at launch. Would like to use slicks next time and run the rpms up a little higher before dropping the hammer.

Dennis, try just giving it enough gas to put a load on the drivetrain while staging, say 1100 rpm or so, then when you nail it outta the hole, the converter should "flash" to around 3200 or so. That should result in 60' times in the 1.6's or low 1.7's easily. My best 60' times back in the day were accomplished via this technique and I believe my best 60' was around a 1.58 or so(albeit in much cooler weather). That monster of a motor in that bad boy with a 2800 rpm converter, and slicks will pull a 1.6 60' even in this soup! Goodluck and enjoy!
