Where would one take a torque wrench to get it calibrated? I have searched google but can't seem to locate a shop.

Thanks

Ask a Snap On rep or check Intek or Innotek in Dallas. They calibrate meters...

It is easy to check at home with a vise and a weight, clamp the tool input in a vise, hang a known weight at a measured distance on the handle. 30 lbs at 1 foot as an example. I do this occasionally to see if the torque wrenches are still close, usually within 10%.

I can probably get it done for you. The co. I work for is a govt contractor & the DOD requires that we calibrate EVERYTHING; so we have a calibration dept. They have always been happy to calibrate my torque wrenches, mikes, calipers & fluke meter for me.

Thanks Terry/Mark for the reply.

Steve - Mine has never been calibrated and I have had it for 7 years. Since it's the one being used to re-install those heads I figured it should probably be done.

Still waiting to hear back from the machine shop on the head.

I checked with my friend in the cal dept & he said no problem. Mine are about due as well, so I'm going to give him mine @ the same time.
