Mine came with my other truck, so I transplanted it. I've never had luck with the motorcrafts. Optimas have been good to me.

Most run yellow or red from what I can tell.. but each one does something better than the other.. just dont recall.. I have the gold Autozone battery now.. but may need to move to an Optima with the electronics and the extended sitting.

Optima use to be a good battery, warranty is only good for 3 years.I reccomend a Gel battery perferably AGM they have a 7 year warranty and are 75 bucks cheeper(Orileys Auto). My last red top in wifes car lasted 3 years (replaced with an AGM),heat wave last year killed it.I run a yellow deep cycle in the L..Still going fine, next batt will be an AGM gel..If you run an E-fan use a deep cycle.Optima blue tops suck alsohave one on my boat trolling motor, the old lead acid held a longer charge.I now use AGM deep cycle.Optimas also need some mount adapter brackets to fit properly in the Lightning, they dont sell one i liked i made one. They arent worth the trouble to fit em or the money to buy em with a 3 year warranty.Junk!!!!!

I have red. Not really sold on Optima's, but they look cool so I bought one.

if you decide to go with the red top, make sure you get the 800/1000 amp one. i've seen some local places only have the 720/910 one before when i was lookin. i have one in the 65 & one in the L :icon_wink:

and make sure you get the plastic junk looking cap spacer thing thats on top ... Dont let the store "throw it away for you"
Its used to make it fit in some applications .... I bought a red top because finding a conventional battery that was sized for my application was very tough

I am trying Deka Intimidator AGM batteries now. The distributor is in Carrolton. They don't look fancy but seem to be well built.

I just looked online at VatoZone. They have a Platinum series which is an AGM, that is a solid battery design.
