Sounded like a freak accident when I spoke to his girlfriend. He went to the store and fell, knocked his head on the curb or concrete and ended up in an ambulance non-responsive with brain swelling. As I understand it they did emergency brain surgery but could not bring him back. Needless to say I'm in shock. He was one of the good ones...

Don't know if all of you are looking at the other thread that was revived, so if you not we got some sad news yesterday. Monday night our old friend Ronald Brown passed away. I'm sure those of you that met him or knew him remember him well. he was a good guy that will be missed. He's in a better place now. Keep him, his family and his 6 year old son in your thoughts.

Tom

I just received this from his ex wife
Hello, trying to reach Doug and whoever else knew Ronald Brown. He passed away Monday evening in Broken Arrow, OK. His funeral will be Friday, in Madill, OK at the Watts funeral home. I didnt know if any of you can possibly road trip up there for the funeral but I do know he would have loved to know the Lightning guys showed to say goodbye. Please let me know if any of you can come. This is Elaine Brown, his ex-wife and I know you all probably dont like ex wives at all but this is about him and what he would have wanted.

Wish I could go to pay my respects. All I know is I wish I would have reached out a little more to see how he was...

I'm planning on going at this point. Just need to OK it with my boss. Madill is a short trip up I35 just on the other side of Texoma. I will confirm tomorrow if anyone wants to convoy.

Holy cow.

As far as a convoy, when would you be heading out?

I can only get a 1/2 day off so the soonest I could get away would be 11:45/noon which is going to be pushing it for a 2pm service

Nice ceremony and packed house on the family side. I couldn't make the graveside service as I had to get back. I got to see Wayne there and we were the only two I know of from Talon.
I represented with the big ass Talon sticker that has been on the truck for 11 years now.

Preacher got a shout out to how much Ronald enjoyed his 'go-fast Lightning truck'- I chuckled under my breath but thought it was cool epitaph

Yup, the most entertaining, I enjoyed those posts, maybe Doug could load up one or two to Talon history forum. Very sad, he was a interesting guy, RIP Ronald

Steve, thanks for making the trip and representing. I wanted to go, just couldn't due to the family vacation. The Lighting was an integral part of who he was...too bad we were never able to get him to take it down the 1/4 mile!

I still have the furniture he sold me after his move from Dallas. He was one of my first PR Wild System installs. You never know how life will play out. RIP Ronald.

I've been absent from Talon Threads for a while and just saw this. I met Ron a few times at the meet ups. Very sad news indeed to hear. He will be missed in the Lightning circle and beyond. RIP Ron.

very sad. Ronald used to live just a couple of miles from me. We'd see each other on the road from time to time and give a wave. He was a good guy, and its good to see he will be remembered that way by all.

Doug, here is your chance - and you get to carry the torch for Ronald! :)

Wish I had the money...
