Trans Locked-Up

Any suggestions on possible upgrades? Where to take it (Im in Hurst) and what has it cost some of you guys? Thanks for any input, wife has been driving it and loves it wants to know when its going to be fixed.

I am no technician but when my sons 2002 L transmission would not shift from park it was a simple fuse.
Good luck hopefully some of the guys who really know something will chime in.

Without a question mine dumped fluid and locked up. Went to put in reverse and the trans locked the motor down. Truck sat for over 2 years in storage with only a few starts. Just wanted to know if anyone had done any beneficial upgrades.

After being charged around 3k for R&R locally, only to have it last a 1-2 years, I pulled it out myself and drove it down to Houston. Took it to Circle D, had them rebuild it and went with one of their torque converters. That was $3600 a few yrs back. Still runs strong.

There was supposed to be a good shop in Weatherford I thought Tiffton knew about. BTS in Arkansas does good 4R100 builds. Suncoast also does mail order exchanges.

A decent mechanic should charge $4-600 to R&R your tranny if you provide a crate unit.

We used to refer customers to them. Never heard a complaint. If they weren't so far away I would use them.

He is right around 2800$ with a stall stage 9 plates, tranny WONT break.
