OK, so Crawford and I wrenched on the Cobra over the weekend to get it pretty much pieced back together. Got the motor mounts in and pieced the others items in place. One issue that came up is the steering. Question I have is regarding the connection between the steering shaft and the rack. The shaft has a clamp on the end and the rack has a shaft with splines on it. As it sits now the clanp from the steering shaft only goes on the rack shaft about 1/4 inch, which I know is not right. The joint on the shaft seems to be flexible enough to push down over the shaft more to get the bolt through, so the question is is this what needs to be done? I am not the one that took the steering apart, so I don't have a point of reference to recall how it goes back together.

Any ideas? Can't find any pics of the steering installed, so I am having a bit of trouble with this. Just want to be sure so it's put back on correctly.

Thanks,
Tom
