I have gotten curious as to what my operating temp should be for my L. I have a Jeep that has a 195 thermostat but consistently runs at 210. That is not hot for a Jeep, however, my L runs pretty consistently at 185, except when the temps go way above 90, then its temp goes up a bit as well. Question is, is 185 too low? or just right? And what temp does your L run at most of the time?

Stock is 185 and JDM Efans etc use a 160-170 stat so the fan will cycle usually at 185 on and 170 off. As a rule of thumb a stat reaches full opening at 12 deg over rated temp. So a 180 stat is wide open at 192. The swing you see will depend on mechanical and enviro factors like coolant flow, radiator perf, air flow and A/C load etc.. The A/C condenser is the first radiator and throws a lot of heat into the coolant radiator. Ford trucks have a very capable coolant system.
