Driving in from Mansfield last night about 10:30 on Hwy 360 traveling North at I30 moving along about 70-75 the first superbike passes doing a measly 80-90...I look in the rearview and much to my amazement there is a string of superbikes as far as I could see! I got passed like a fly on flypaper and opened it up to around 110 to catch up to a few leaders...then the fun begins...the exit 183 towards Dallas....make the sweep, east....open it up to 145 (maxed-fuel cut-off starts)my adrenaline is pumping like rush... and get passed again by the stragglers like a fly on flypaper....there were at least 45-50 of them....all brands...some with new plates...crazy ****. Where the rest of them went...god only knows....cuz they were gone out of my site....and at 145 they must have ALL opened it up with the exception of 5-6 stragglers to at least 160-180....

:bows hail to the superbike...hail to the superbike...hail to the super....

I have decided this Focus needs a Turbo Tom Kit (5800.00) and a TCE big brake kit...215-230BHP should help...

yeah...the only thing that would give them a run would be the new Audi RS6 450HP/V8/AWD/Twin-Turbo..good for about 180....and even then...

WHO KNOWS what the top end is on the current "SUPERBIKE" ???

<???=???>

I saw some deal on TV this weekend about Bike Week in Daytona. They we're talking about the "Boss Hoss" bike.

Bacically it was a big block V8 with like 600 HP and 695 TQ on two wheels- that is crazy insane:eek2: :nono:

buddy of mine has a awd wrx turbo with 18# of boost, he was giving heavily modded ss's a car length head start and whooping their asses nasty, by like 5 car lengths in an 1/8th. they can be really fast if you want them to be, but i still dont think they can come that close to a crotchrocket

Wow, I just got back from Daytona. I will have to post the pics. It got rained out the first 2 days but they finally got to race. I was there for bike week too(got the t-shirt, whoopie). About the busa....I have personally seen one going over 220 for about 30 sec (tank cam) I would post the video, its on my hard-drive, but unless one of the goderators helps me out, I dont think it will work. I got it off kazaa, but maybe I can find a link. my 2001 CBR f4i wont do much above 165, but it sure gets there quick! It has a digital speedo so im not sure of its top speed but the redline is at 13k and I was at 11k @ 160mph. I guess there is some math involved. I wouldent suggest you "play" with any of the bike crowd in our lightnings. With 45-50 bike your truck alone will be using more gas than all the bikes put together, hahahha. Well maybe not. But it is a waste of my time. I save the bike "partys" for when I am on my bike.

O yeah, and if you do happen to be able to hang with a 600 or above sports bike, dont get too cocky, 40% of riders havent learned the art of "downshifting". they just punch it and start climbing when they could drop 3 gears and "where'd he go?". AAAHHHH the beauty of a 6-speed constant-mesh tranny.

hehe. I miss my bikes. i hate looking in this thread. Miguel actually won a race? OMG i have been under a rock!? bostrom went with honda!? he did so well with that zx-6r (my old bike). i guess he got tired of the old kawasaki platforms. they really need to do something drastic with those bikes, especially the 750.

hey, microsuck. you ever read any of keith code's books?

edit: i have been under a rock. kawasaki did a new platform. damn i feel old.

Ben Bostrom came home from Europe after getting dumped from his Ducati ride last year (World Superbike). Signed with Honda hoping to repeat his Superbike championship he won for Honda in 1998. Eric Bostrom is running the ZX-7 Kawasaki just like last year. This year 1000cc four cylinder bikes are allowed and everyone thought that Matt Maladin would probably be the guy to beat (GSXR 1000), but he came in 6th. Honda RC51s 1-2-3.

If you want to keep up with what is happening in the motorcycle racing world, this is an excellent source of news.

read them. they will literally make you go faster. If you comprehend them. explins riding technique, physics, body postioning for turn. Keith muthfreak'n Code man. Has the top superbike school.

I thought they were talking about Eric. He should be able to do better in the 600cc with the new bike. I'm assuming they are using the zx-6rr limited.

I have taken some high-speed riding classes too. I am the only person you will see completely over the side of the bike, pegs scraping, on the way to the office. To date I believe I am the only person to corner so low on the george bush turnpike that i actually ripped off my muffler and pipe. I took the westbound bend near the midway exit at about 145mph and my pipe touched the ground and got ripped off. i found it a week later, on the eastbound side. that was with the pirelli's though. man, those could really bite. I believe you, position is EVERYTHING! nowadays, if it is more than a 15deg turn my tail will be over and my chest will be on the tank. I have since cooled down a bit. I want to live to see my truck hit 11s.

damn man. your exhaust and pegs scraping? what bike you ride? your pegs and exhaust should never scrape unless your on the wrong bike. no offense.

right now I have a 2001 cbr f4i. Look at how huge the stock muffler is. you will see what I mean. And yes the pegs will scrape. I dont corner that tight on my street tires though, only on the race tires. Its too dangerous.

yeah. i believe the 2001 model will scrape. i had a 00 zx-6r. think thats when they first revised the new platform after 10,000 years. i loved that thing. had adjustable ride height. had it cranked all the way up. awesome rake and handling after that. ran the pirrelli dragons race compound. those tires kick ass!

sometimes the front would slip on a increasing radius off camber turn if you didn't thottle balance the load enough to the rear. but hard to do on that type of turn.

microsuck

Yeah, I was running the same pirelli's. Mine were a little too soft for daily driving though. I got a screw in the front and a gash in the rear. It was time for some new d207s. I have a 2" drop in the front so that increases the handling by putting more wieght on the front, but it also gets me closer to the ground when I corner. I will take a pic of the scraped pipe and muffler tommorow when it is light. you can see what I mean.
Andrew

yeah. that bike will for sure scrape.
