Inspection Failure

Well I asked the delaer to inspect the truck while it was there. It failed. Not because of mods but because the truck hadnt completed and ODBII drive cycle since the codes were cleared. P1000 code is the code that ODBII cycle is not yet completed

They told me to drive it 20 miles and bring it back.. Well 20 miles didnt clear p1000. 30 miles didnt either.

On the Service DVD I found specific instructions on how to force an ODBII cycle. So for lunch I will be driving around trying to get the IAT between 40 and 100, the TP mode=PT, EvapDC >=75% and FLI between 15% and 75%...

Cruise at 45 to 65 mph for 10 minutes avoiding sharp turns and hills.

Drive n stop and go raffic for 10 min with 5 diff cruise speeds between 25 and 45 mph

From a stop accelerate to 45 mph at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. Repeat 3 times

Stop - idle in drive for 2 min

In Overdrive - Moderatly accel to 50 mph and cruise for 15 sec.
Stop - Overdrive off to 40 mph while at 40 activate OD and accel to 50 mph cruise for 15 seconds. stop for 20 seconds. repeat 10 times

From stop accel to 65 mph, decel with no brakes to 40 - repeat 3 times.

Just got back from driving around for 40 minutes. It still doesnt think I have driven far enough....

Very strange, I passed inspection with the following.

I disconnected my battery for days when installing the linelock electronics. I drove to work~4 miles, truck sat all day, drove back home, shut off the truck, went to the Jiffy lube about a mile away and passed.

I had two not ready systems: evap. system and cats, but the truck got an overall pass on the system.

jebus...could they make this crap any harder? it seems that just waiting for a drive cycle to complete might be easier. or maybe you should just pay the guy off. thats what i normally do

thats what Im trying to do is complete a drive cycle... The inspection is up at the end of the month ... Time is running out...

I may just geta refund from bankston and take it else where

That sounds like when you want to stop your seatbelt bell. Crank the truck, push the button twice, kill the truck, turn on the head lights, push the button two times, connect your seat belt, and you dingy should stop. Oops forgot one! Croke like a chicken!:D :D

First thing that went right all week...

Recommendation for those with mods - DONT reset your PCM right before you go for inspection. reset it a few days in advance and drive it for 200 miles or so ....
