Anybody with a hookup on a side jobber Ford tech speak up. I know one way up north but maybe there is one closer. I know TXBolt knows one. Use PM's for details so we don't get someone in trouble;)

He's fixing to do Rodney's heads. He has a head leaking so the Ford mach. is going to port and polish them both with the new gaskets. I thought you were the Talon Ford Machanic Terry? You don't like head sit-u-ations? There's no way I would attempt to remove one of these heads. Pain in the a--! Ford needs to give us all new head!:vomit:

:(

Alpine, you might take it to the dealer just to see what they say. Mine blew at 52K also, and they covered 75% of it under warranty, even though my warranty was long expired.

I am not as cheap as I have heard some of these dealer techs on the side. Ford charged me 700 bucks to pull my motor and trans out for the inspection. The mechanic offered to put it back together for less than 300 bucks. Then again I don't want to get JD'd either:hammer:

Mine got towed to the dealer today. Service advisor said he talked to the manager and said we'll fix it '' no problem" everything is taken care of, this is before they have even looked at my truck. Said I would have to pay for some of the repair, but how much I dont know yet. If I can get a deal like Moonshine, I would be very satisfied with that. Told them not to take anything apart till I know exactly how much it will cost on my end,it just sounds way to easy and to good to be true. :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

FYI - The total repair bill on mine was right at $2000, and I had to pay $500 of that.

Hey moonshine,
Talked to the dealer today and they said they would pay 75% as well. The total was right at 2000.00 but they would'nt tell me exactly. they said I would have to pay right around $500.00, and he has allready ordered the parts. Did you get anything in writing first? I asked but he said a verbal was good. If everything works out as planned, which it looks like it is, I will be very happy.:D
Thanks for your help Moonshin, and Terry. I will keep you guys posted.:tu:

For comparison sake

The warranty total for the head gasket they just did on mine was $2400 or so. That included a new head ...

Which dealer did you guys get this done at ? I'm surprised they were so helpful after the warranty was long over. Any mods on the truck or did you remove them first ?

I figured I didn't have a chance in he!! getting it done under warranty so i didn't even really try.

Oh well...mine will be back together on Mon hopefully.

My truck is at Don Davis for the head replacement, thats where I bought the truck. My IC recall, windshield wiper recall(something with the motor or cover or something would catch on fire I think),and some problems I had with my brakes at 6,000 miles were all done there.
