Dealer also told me that the 2000 I had just bought had had the supercharger upgrade like the new ones, is there any way I can tell if it has really been done? Anyone have the pully sizes of the stock 2003's that I can compare with? It's not like a dealer has ever lied you know?

I've never heard of a supercharger "upgrade" before. I know the 99/00 intercooler configuration is different than the later models and I think the bolt pattern on the later model superchargers might be different, but I think the pulley sizes are the same for all years. How many miles on your truck?

2000 WITH 26K MILES ON IT. YHE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD DONE A TONE OF STUFF TO IT BUT PUT IT BACK TO STOCK BEFORE TRADING IT IN ON A 2003 L. HE KEPT EVERYTHING FOR THE NEW ONE. WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "THEY FLAKE EASIER"? THIS IS MY FIRST SUPERCHARGED VEHICLE AND DONYT KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT.

A used and modified L brave brave man:eek2: Their computer will have all work history including warranty repairs and campaigns. You should go get a print out of it. Just bring them the VIN# it will have the dates and milage of service etc.. Yes the rotors are Teflon coated and know to flake off after time or heavy use.

I'm wondering if my low boost pressure can be attributed to the teflon flaking off. Is this something you can verify by looking at the rotors...possibly just by just looking down the blower inlet?

Pull the rotor pack and you can see the rotors and the intercooler where the stuff lands.

My 01 has worn edges at 30,000 miles. I don't think I'm losing much. I thought it might be the Toulene. The pulley spins a little more free than Skankdogs and his at 10,000 miles. The Eatons are so cheap now, its easy to replace.

great news, tracked down the original owner and foung out the "upgrade" was like you said it was a recall for the rotors, they were changed and it has a larger intercooler. Also was lucky enough to buy the stuff he had on the truck. Superchip, intercooler fan, k&n cold air induction, set of new ngk iridiums, autologic 3 program chip, and an 8lb lower pulley..........FOR $350!!!!!!!!!!!! Found out he had already put a boost by pass kit on it, 160 degree hypertech thermostat, 2.88 inch upper pully, and flowmasters. He said best time on truck with these mods was a 7.45 1/8 with drag radials. anyone have any thoughts on these mods.....which chip should I use or any other comments?

Damn:eek2: That truck was run hard:burnout: Another example of why not to buy a used Lightning. A 8lb lower and 2.80 upper is 10-11 EXTRA lbs of boost:eek2: 18lbs on a stock motor....

The tolulene isnt hittting the rotors... It is injected direct into the cylinders unless you have a squirt bottle in the air cleaner...
