There are a lot of those at MSR along with rattle snakes, jack rabbits, and coyotes. They are very passive and friendly:D

You should have sprayed it with the spray paint. That would have startled it enough for you to whack it with the broom! I have to kill a spinder about that big once. It was like stepping on a hamster! :vomit:

Round here, that spider would've met Mr. Shovel in short order. Friendly or no. When it's big enough to see it smile, it's time to die.

NOoooooooooooooo,
Don't kill it! That's a good spider.
I migrated all the geckos, spiders and garden snakes from our old house to my new one.
They prey on bugs like roaches and water bugs.
We keep an old shoe box handy for scooping them up and returning them to the garden when they get inside.
Jeez, I'll bring a six pack and pick it up if you catch one.

Also they are pretty slow and dont jump. Its very easy to set a cup over the top of them, slide a piece of paper between spider and ground, flip cup over, dump spider in safe location.:tu:

Well, I don't know much about spiders, and this coulda been a Mexican Jumping Tarantula for all I knew, so I didn't take any chances. :D

Just messin' w/ya!

My big fear is heights/falling! I'm doing good to get in my deer-stand back home for deer-season and it's only like 25 ft. off the ground... and I'm wearing a safety-harness!

Big rattlesnakes, etc are another one for me! and I've seen some HUGE ones back home in OK.

Sixpipes,

Between Madill and Ardmore. Small "village" called Durwood/McMillan on Hwy. 70. Growing up, the nearest neighbor was 1/2 mile away.

Rattlesnakes CAN be good eating. I've sampled the fare at the Waurika, OK Rattlesnake roundup before. It's a cross between chicken/fish sorta'.

Here's another pastime in Marshall County. This is the parent's pond last year. All caught within about 45 minutes.
