Stock CD player stopped working. Radio works fine, all other controls working properly. When I try to play a CD it loads then says "BAD CD" on the screen and spits the CD out. I have tried 10-12 different CD's, so I don't think all of my CD's are screwed up. Also, no matter what position # you tried to load a CD in it still says "BAD CD". Anyone have any ideas?

John,

Sounds like you need to go to http://www.millionbuy.com and upgrade! :D

I'm thinking about doing likewise.

Elaine and I are thinking about going to Denton Friday night, too.

Hooter's in Lewisvillle before?

Hmmm...Denton Friday night? I may have to venture out for this as well!

As for the CD player, I don't know what would be wrong, but recommendation is pull that ba$tard the hell out of your truck and get a new one. The stockers suck anyway!

not a solution per se, but I have the stock head unit out of my 02. I will sell it if you are interested.. or you can go to www.radiosandmore.com (http://www.radiosandmore.com) and get a Ford replacement for less than what the dealer would charge or go on to ebay and look there too... my head unit was barely used, I bought the Ford MP3 unit out of a Mustang..
or get an aftermarket

John,

There is a guy(independent contractor) that does most of the stereo repair for various Ford Dealerships.

I think for about $100 he'll do a swap on a new head unit (exchange) and even to come to house to do it.
