Decided to check out the Kwik Kar dyno and see what the pickup was turning out. I am running a mild street tune and running 12-13lbs boost. I am going to call Jim and see what he thinks it should be doing. The curve is great and I can probably dial up the boost on the built motor. I sure would like a KB to throw down some crazy numbers:hammer: I pulled up parked then ran it at temp, no ice, alcohol & water, NOS or trickyness. All motor all the time:tu: Excuse my embellishment of 3hp and 1ft lb tq I like round numbers.
We also ran Blowzilla and it picked up 40hp/25ft lbs over previous runs at a FAT 10.0 A/F. Only change was the blower and chip.

since I just ran mine there, can you explain something to me? It has always been my understanding that the hp and tq curves cross at 5250 rpm.. this is because hp is a function of tq... when I looked at my previous dyno runs, they all cross at about 5250 rpms. But when I went to Kwik Kar, they crossed at about 4400 rpm, like yours do on the graph you included.. why is that? just dont seem right and I dont have an explanation. I thought about calling them to ask, but just darned forgot about it today.. any thoughts on this?
Dana

btw, those are some great numbers, nice flat curves, :tu:

On reason it could not cross at 5250 depends on how the graps were scaled.

If the torque scale measured from 300-800 it would be different then it is now. As you change the scale the position they cross will change.

I dont understand why that would have anything to do with it.. except they maybe wouldnt cross at all... can you splane it a little better?

The scale on the left is HP, the right is TQ. If you have a 200-500HP scale aon the left and a 400-600TQ scale on the right the curve will cross a different point or not at all if you scale it so.

well, the point here is.. that hp is a function of torque and the laws of physics and math say they must cross at 5250... you are correct that you can put together a graph with different scales where they dont cross, but your graph and mine both cross, but not at 5250... so something just aint right...

Are they the same scale 500hp 600tq? The laws of physics can suck one, the curve or intersect depends on many variables, compression, cam specs, head ports, intake runner length, exhaust back pressure etc. If you take a Chevy 350 and swap a single plane intake manifold for a single plane unit the surves will change.
Go look in the dyno and et section at GoRila's runs. The Fastech sheet has an offest scale and it intersects at 4200rpm. One of the drawback to big power I guess:D

YaDa YaDa YaDa ..... :D

If both sides are scaled the same and are measured in the same increments they will cross at 5250....anhy variance from that they will not cross there at all!!!!!

Compare apples to apples here what are your ALL MOTOR ALL the TIME numbers? This is my mild street tune the way I drive it every day, how about you. I am also running half the rated HP for my engine/rods, and you? I hope you are coming up to Hearland Park so we can dance on the 2.5 mile Grand Prix course. See how long your NOS or rods last then:rll:

Oh, terry. So defensive. You know I am just poking you. We all know your truck is cooler. I am supprised you dont race the vettes on that thing. Looks like they would be more fun. Dont expect to see me there, I dont plan on introuducing my truck to the concrete wall anytime soon.

Terry,

You remember when we were the whipper-snappers giving everybody else a bunch of sh!t and pissing everybody off? Well, it looks like the torch has been passed to the new generation of whipper-snappers. You and I are now officially pootie-tangers :rll::bs.
