160 or 170

What are ya'll running? Thinking of going 160.

Stock is 180, JDM's and the fan kits I have seen use 170 Stant's. I haven't seen a lot of 160's but we do run them in the C5's. The electric fans in both don't come on until 180-185 so it doesn't matter at idle anyway.

I used a 170 taht came with my JDM fan, I asked if I could use 160. I just can't remember why, but there was a draw back to using lower than a 170.:confused:

I'm using a 170. I've got a manual override on my fans so I can take advantage of the lower stat temperature. I think some folks have complained about the engine light coming on using a 160. :cool:

I've been using a 170 and have a manual fan switch too. Just thinking of trying a 160 to see what happens... basically just looking for something to mess with.

Have no problems with mine running a 160...then again, I had a good tuner install it :beer:

i have a 160, never had an engine light.

i have the 160, efan and cobra R wp (came with 170, but I already had a 160. Mine is super cool. I think cause the cobra r flows less water, it stays in the radiator longer and gets colder before it returns to the engine and therefore the 160 will work just fine.
