Lightning Shootout...Hallsville....Oct. 18th

It will be in Hallsville near Longview, TX.
So far it will be $25 entry fee. There will be trophies for 1st and 2nd place of brackets. (most likely 3rd and 4th place too)
Will have a trophy for the best Reaction Time.
Will also have a trophy for the L with the quickest e.t. (Gen 1 & Gen2)
Will have a trophy for the best looking Lightning also. (vote by all)

Will have the scheduled time shortly.

I hope all of you in the neighboring area can schedule this on your calender. This will be a very fun event. We are expecting 40 Lightnings to show right now. Would like to see more.

Have you had time yet to get some runs in at Ennis lately?
I did do the microtuner and got my numbers up a little from before but it was already 90 and so the heat was a factor.. Dont know if I can make the next Talon meeting even..
but you have a great crew and company... would do it again in a heartbeat, plus the new homeowner doesnt realize what a gift that was to them...

This is all a planned program. Gates open at 5 with T&T starting about 6 p.m. Then we should start our brackets somewhere around 8-9p.m.
There will also be a "Backhalf Shootout" program for the 4-5second 1/8th mile cars. They should keep the track warm and stciky for us.

If anything changes on the time schedule, I will let everyone know. Still haven't gotten word back from the track yet.


The trohies are ordered. I figured with so many expected to come and so many coming from long distances, you should have a chance to win something.

Don't give you the exact address, but the track is on Hwy. 450 about 2 miles South of Hallsville. I am sure someone give give you detailed directions. And I am sure there will be a big convoy too.

Nope, the price is still $25 ($15 at the gate and the other $10 for trophies)
I already bought and paid for the trophies. They were $231 and as long as 22 other poeple show ($220 + my $10) then I will break even. If there are more then 23 present then the first T&T pass we get we will do a gallop for gold and whoever guesses closest on their dial wins the cash. So if 30 poeple show then $70 will be up for grabs. If anyone thinks there is a better way of raffling the money let me know.

I have got 32 on the list. There were a few that posted saying they were going when Shane and I first started this, but I went ahead and took them off since they haven't posted since. The bad thing is that I did have over 40 on the list at one time. 10-12 poeple have backed out since.

Sarah, with the White '99 from Shreveport, e-mailed me and said that at least 2 more that don't post on the boards are coming. And then there might be a few from around the area that may show up that haven't posted. I tried to get the L's in Texarkana to come, but couldn't find a one.
So I will say I know 34 Lightnings are showing for sure from there board posting.

Yep, I thought that is what we would end up doing this year.

The first Saturday in December is the tentative date for the Fall Classic. Winter hours will be in effect by then and we will get a chance to kick Corvette butt during test and tune because the Corvette Club of Dallas usually shows up on that date. Plenty of time to plan the event once we settle on a date. :cool:
