I was about to buy one of these but I thought I would ask opinions first. basicall it lets me tune my truck myself. I am tired of sending my crap to sal.





The Predator Flash Tuner features the following:

Diablosport has generated dyno tested tunes for 2003 4.6L/4V Ford Supercharged SVT Cobra applications with Supercharger. Average power gains are in 20-30 HP in the Supercharged SVT vehicles.


The only flash tuner on the market that allows for end user adjustability to the performance tune, enough adjustment to allow for pulley changes in factory-supercharged engine applications.

Fuel Curves Timing Curves Extend Speed Limiters Extend Rev Limiters * Part and Full Throttle Shift Points Shift Timing Shift PressureDiablosport Predator allows the end user to make the following fine tuning adjustments:

Idle: Will adjust from -20% to +20% Axle Ratio: Can adjust from a 2.xx up to a 6.xx in .01 increments. Cooling Fans: Will adjust both ON and OFF in 1 degree increments up/down. Power Enrichment (Fuel): Will adjust from -5% to +5% for PE mode Spark (Timing): Will adjust from from -10% to +10% for PE mode Shift Adaption (duration): Allows user to adjust the time delay during the gear change, i.e. quickness of the shift, from -25% up to +25% Shift Points (MPH): Allows user to adjust at what MPH the shift should take place, for each individual gear, in 1 mph increments. Shift Points (RPM): Allows user to adjust at what RPM the shift should take place, for each individual gear, in 10 rpm increments. Shift Pressure: Allows user to adjust the firmness of the shift action, for each individual gear, from -25% up to +25% Rev Limit: Allows user to adjust ON/OFF rev limits, for each individual gear, in 10 rpm increments. Actual Wheel Size: Enter the actual tire size in XXX/XX-XX format, i.e. 305/35-18 The Predator then calculates the difference in overall height for proper speedo calibration.
DiabloSport Performance tunes require the use of Super Unleaded/ Premium grade fuel only, Amoco, Sunoco or Exxon if possible.


Diagnostic Capabilities:


Predator can read and erase fault codes, and contains all the Ford specific P codes. Predator diagnostics will work on all 96-03 OBD-II Ford Mustangs or F-Series Gas vehicles.

They have been advertising this for some time. Are they even shipping them yet? if it does what it says it does, cool, but you had better be close to the dyno and get the feedback there.. I went mild with a microtuner but it wouldnt work for you..
let us know the results.. my other concern is that the Diablo folks have or had a rep of doing programs that blew up some engines, dont know if that has turned around or if it is just urban legend..

I have been giving this a very hard look:

They have a Racer and Racer Pro version that will allow you to tune your own setup. You can use a 4 bank chip or flash the PCM directly. The Racer version is only available through Modular Depo, http://www.modulardepot.com/index.php .

Ther Racer version is very similar to the Predator, in the items that you can change. The Racer Pro lets you tune all functions, or neer it.

All in all it seems to be a better deal than the Predator. Although I here Diablo is coming out with a similar tuning package.

Danadiablosport isnt touching a damn thing on my truck. I am making my own programs. I'm not loading any of their crap unless I know what it is. I want to set my timing and AFR myself.

What does everyone think about getting a group together to pitch in and get the bronze package? Its $1500 to get the Lightning/Harley stuff. We could do our own tuning!

i wouldnt trust my own bonehead to tune my truck. thats for people like terry, sal, and jdm

I think the predator might be pretty good its just a matter of when its gonna be released. You CAN purchase a predator for the 03'cobra so that may mean the Lightning version is sure to follow. :tu:

They have been on Corvette's nearly a year now and owners like them. They allow users to adjust non critical features so you fee like you are tuning it yourself without blowing it up. Like the timing adj of +/- 10%, what is 10% of 10' WOT... 1 full degree of adjustent, whoopee. May even be temporary depending on what PE mode is. All Predators are Diablo tuned with listed user adjustable features. The mainstream tuners are close enough to the ragged edge for me. I don't want to be down another 7 months or buy another $10K dollar engine this year:hammer: . JDM, Swanson, PSP etc have years of dyno tuning time and research on L's specifically why would Driveway Joe do any better?
