I'm going to the Kwik Kar in Richardson tomorrow if anyone wants to join. I'm off tomorrow so I'm flexible with the time.

Time for more newb questions.

When you get your vehicle dyno'd, what all is involved? I know they can run a variety of tests on your truck. Is it like a flat rate for a dyno or do you pay for each individual test?

Since I understand HP is one of the results you can get, how can I expect the numbers to compare to the 380HP that my truck is supposed to have (or actually more now since Terry got ahold of it.

You typically should pay a flat rate for X number of pulls or runs on the dyno.
This can run from $30 to $75 typically for 3 pulls.

The purpose of the 3 pulls is to get an average of your numbers or account for any problems on the dyno.

You should get a graph or chart showing your HP,TQ (torque), and A/F (Air to Fuel Ratio) across the RPM range.

The 380HP that Ford rated is measured at the crank not the rear wheels like a dyno does. I think you will see less to the rear wheels since you typically lose 15-20% through the drivetrain unless you have mods.

This place charges 30$ for 3 pulls and 10$ extra for the A/F.. I hope to see the increase from the chip and to also check the A/F to make sure I'm running at a safe level. Nobody wants to go today I take it...

After TC gets finished with my truck, I'd like to head back to SpeedWorks for a comparison. :cool:
