At the Boat dealer last night dropping of my Regal for service at the Slalom Shop and I met a White 2002 owner that JUST bought his with 4000 miles from Carmax
He towed his regal in for service as well. I stopped to invite him to the meeting Thursday. Nice guy - I think his name was Sayle ? Maybe not.
He is dying to put some mods on it and we kept the boat dealer open past 6 BS'ing in the parking lot --- As we were leaving I saw the service manager walking out towards me so I roll the window down to wave - expecting him to kid me that we were keeping him past dinner or something - As I roll by he says - " I thought sure you were gonna roast em" - So what can you do ... The freindly service writer requests some burned rubber :evil :evil
Hopefully the new guy will find us here and can offfer his feedback as to what it looked like from behind as I smoked em up a bit ...
Anyway - Welcome in advance to the 2002 owner..
Hi all!
I found ya's! You can tell im new to performance cause i still see smoke as the color of money. This is Sayle (Sail was close, that is how its pronounced). Last thurdsay i traded my Denali Truck for an 02 lightning with 4k miles from carmax. Not only is this my first lightning, its also my first ford. I have lots of questions; like supercharger maintenance, engine oil preference, engine break-in, and what the heck is that noise from my exhaust when i shift from 1st to 2nd under heavy boost.
I look forward to hearing from those of you who have done mods. The "do's", the "don'ts", and the "not worth the money" will be great to hear from those who have first hand experience.
I'm still studying, feel like im cramming for a test...hehe
Great meeting you Doug, owning my truck is much more sweet now. I smell potential

Welcome
The noise is known as the fart ... The Computer shuts off 4 of 8 cylinders to ease the tranny during the shift. It makes a noise ...
Its normal - You can have it removed or have the delay shorteneed in the chip if you get one...
your truck is broken in... The supercharger needs no maintenance for a long time. I use Mobil 1 and have Walmart install it for about 35 bucks
So did I leave som black strips for the Slalom shop guys to talk about ??
Doug
Coo, thx for info.
Yeah you did, I'm sure those black strips were a topic of today haha.
The fart doesn't bother me as long as its by design. But if it causes power loss that's a different story :evil
Mobil 1 is good to hear, thats what i have run in my previous trucks.

Welcome the the board, a guy named Sayle with a boat is humorous to the rest of us:rll: anyway. Congrats on the purchase I hope you love it for years to come. There is a brotherhood of owners nationwide. I call it a shift fart, the computer shuts off 3 injectors for 4 tenths of a second. It is intended as a torque reduction so the driveline lives forever. But who wants to live forever:evil

Welcome:beer: ,
I hope to meet you at Hooters Thursday night. If you would like to hit the track with that beast, some of us will be at Ennis Saturday at 8 am. Come on out, even if you don't want to run it down the track. You can see some of the different mod variations in action. I believe Rob now has the fastest, non juiced, truck in the club. He can show you what an after market super charger will do for ya.
Rocks:nana2
Thanks, glad to be here.
My last name is Shipman haha!
Yeah, i plan to meet at hooters tomorrow night. As for saturday, good gosh 8am? How long will you guys be out there? I have a short road trip Saturday afternoon.
