I have spent a lot of effort to get my thrills on the ground. 190mph super bikes, running 190+ in at night in a Vette, building a boss of a truck. These things though fun at the time are not enough to satisfy my need for speed and danger. So I think to myself where is there to go but up. I have been contemplating building my own helicopter:banana: . Then I could go up and down side to side, forwards and back. I think PR needs a ghetto bird G-Money! Rotorway makes a 2 seat kit for only 54K. I could sell the L and Vette and fly wherever I want:d . At least I know a good A&P tech and engineer:twitch:

AdamI logged a few hours over at DFW Helicopter in a R22. It takes about 12K dollars to complete your rotor license. Me likey:banana: Power lines and radio towers are my favorite:tu:

Nothing beats the sound of the Aerospatiale/Dauphin "signature" in person with the rotor whine/wash along with the tail-fin "mix".

True, they don't hand out non-fixed wing licenses without much education/certification(s).... and it ain't cheap!

I remember the days of flying around in a friend's Cessna 182 his dad bought for him just to get flying hours in ...

My dad owned a 182RG (Retractable Gear) I flew in it since an infant until he sold it in the divorce:mad: . Fixed wing flight really is elementary. I appreciate the challenge of rotor flight. It is a lot like riding a unicycle, a balancing act. Hoovering is a very humbling skill:bows .
