okay, i finally did it. I was able to have enough self control to mope arround in my truck for a whole tank of gas, just to see exactally how many miles I could get out of it. the test session also includes 2 burnouts (one which was long enough to completely fill the entire jiffy-gay fag-lube garrage with white smoke:evil ), three 0-100mph blasts, alot of sitting in traffic during rush hour and 30sec of over 100mph driving. the majority of the driving time was under vaccuum, below 40psi fuel pressure, and under 2300 rpm, yes that means under 70 on the FW.:( I ran in my "economy program for most of the time and the mods that might effect the gas mileage are as follows.
1. 6# pulley
2. eFan and cobra r wp
3. fresh air induction

I went through 21.5 gallons of gas (full until "low fuel" light) and got 271 miles. that rounds to 12.6mpg. not too bad for a 450hp truck. who said you cant get good mileage from a daily driver. I could have come close to 350 miles if I had done without the agressive driving and I let it use the remaining 4.5 gallons in the tank. I will have to try it on the race program next time to see the difference.

With just intake / exhaust and mostly highway driving (around 80 mph most of the time), I average 14mpg. I'm pretty happy with that.

Well I think I may have the record. I run between 315 and 375 miles to a tank and that is filling up at an 1/8 remaining, I average around 16.5 MPG the highest I have ever gotten is 16.89.

THe following are the mods that I have and I run around 65 and 80 on the highway.

Diablo single program
Ram Air (true ram air)
Volant CAI
5 lb pulley
Swanson oil blowby
Polished TB
Rock On Transmission (This helped me gain about a mile per gallon believe it or not)

I may sound anal but I check my mileage at every fillup. I like power and economy.

Stock motor I averaged 10.5mpg, with the built motor I get about 9mpg. 5-6mpg road racing. On the other hand driving the C5 back from Alabama averaging 100mph with a few 160 jaunts I got 26mph and have seen up to 28mpg.

In town/with a heavy foot, I get ~11mpg ...and on the hwy. with an easy foot I'm lucky to get ~15mpg.

Keep in mind, I'm not modded except for a PS airfilter and Terry's exhaust.

i use to get 10 to 11 around town and highway 12 to 12.5 . but since i built a ram air system my milage has gone up almost 3 miles a gallon . $50 bucks worth of parts seem to me , a cheap investment for an extra 3 mpg .
