I have heard from a few members that want a club race event at Ennis. So lets plan on next Friday after work to sweat in the staging lanes and try to squeeze some decent times out of out trucks:tu: I recommend we get a set of club slicks to share:burnout:
Any bets on a 13 sec Harley, is it possible???:D

I might have to go to this! It all depends on where we stand on this report I'm working on for school. I should have the FASTair in the truck by then. Wonder if it'll make a difference when it's 150 degrees out:confused:

According to the schedule on the Motorplex web site they are closed the 21st.

I don't want to drive all the way down there to find out they are closed. I'll call and check.

It looks like they have that 105.3 anniversary party on Saturday, so they are likely closed for setup tomorrow. It appears as though we are out of luck :flaming:. I sent an e-mail, so let's see if they get back to me.

Looks like Friday or bust. Where is Redline? If it is not too bad a location I would like to go there. I have heard good things about this track:tu:

It's that track off I30 (it's right on the highway) in Caddo Mills...east of Rockwall and west of Greenville...looks pretty decent...I know the guys at Dallas Mustang race out there quite a bit.

I'll go if Denton has paved the entrace way. It took too long to Zaino the truck yesterday only to fug it up on a dirt road.
I'll show up at Logan's though. :) I'm only up the road!

Sorry guys, looks like I'm going to go to Redline tonight instead of Denton. Just too far of a drive for me to go to Denton when Redline is like 5 miles down the road. I'll post my impression of the track and such, as well as my times when I get home. :burnout:

How'd everybody do? I'm sorry I couldn't make it, as I have a :vomit: wife at home and a lot of homework still to do for this weekend (and the Lightning is really dirty, and I can't go to an event like that :nono:!). Temps out there have to be terrible. Anyway, I hear the f150world guys are going to head out to Ennis in force next Friday night. We might need a Lightning presence to keep things in perspective!! I may try to head to Ennis next Friday, but who knows???

Doug, Terry, Logan, and I all met up at Logan's house around 7pm. From there we waited out the monsoon. Since Logan had just washed his truck and I had Zaino'd mine yesterday, it was only fitting that it rain today.
We cruised 4 Lightnings deep to Chili's in Denton where we all shot the usual sh*t. Bill (Red Nemesis)showed up later to join us. Those four took off to the track and I headed to my dad's.
Great informal GTG! We should have more of these for dudes that like to hang out. :burnout:

Ok, just got back from dinner after a night at Redline.
I got there at about 5:45 pm, after a short wait I tech'd in and started making runs.
First, my impressions of the track. My only two complaints are the entry road is paved, but badly in need of patching. It's full of huge potholes and ripples. And second, the transition from concrete to asphalt is a bit rough and could use a smoothing as well on the track. Over all they moved the staging lanes quickly and were more than willing to line you up against who you'd like, or a fairly close match if you didn't care.
All told I made 9 runs (gotta like that), but as the night went on the humidity skyrocketed so times started getting worse as humidity plus heat soak set in. Pardon the horrific reaction times, it's been over a year since I raced hehe.
Run 1@6:34pm: R/T: 1.355, 60': 2.197, 330': 5.996, 1/8th: 9.104 @ 79.35mph (tied for worst run)
Run 2@7:09pm: R/T: 0.908, 60': 2.179, 330': 5.895, 1/8th: 8.961 @ 80.09mph
Run 3@7:38pm: R/T: 0.838, 60': 2.124, 330': 5.845, 1/8th: 8.910 @ 80.12mph (best run)
Run 4@8:08pm: R/T: 0.784, 60': 2.125, 330': 5.865, 1/8th: 8.946 @ 79.73mph
Run 5@8:23pm: R/T: 0.769, 60': 2.170, 330': 5.945, 1/8th: 9.051 @ 79.29mph
Run 6@9:26pm: R/T: 0.804, 60': 2.118, 330': 5.887, 1/8th: 8.985 @ 79.56mph
Run 7@9:37pm: R/T: 0.864, 60': 2.140, 330': 5.926, 1/8th: 9.040 @ 79.08mph
Run 8@10:36pm: R/T: 0.921, 60': 2.135, 330': 5.927, 1/8th: 9.048 @ 79.11mph
Run 9@10:59pm: R/T: 0.680, 60': 2.180, 330': 5.984, 1/8th: 9.103 @ 79.11mph
I don't know if 8.91 @ 80.12 mph is good for a stock truck, but I was happy. Faster than all the LS1's there except two, both modified. My 8th run was against an LS1 and I beat him by 6 tenths LOL total abuse.

I am worn out! We waited till 11:15 for the first runs on the dried track. Then every 5 minutes the lasers or lights broke down track. Doug and Logan were wise enogh to leave early. As long as I had a customer there I would support them. So Bill and I stayed so he could get a run in. We got in the lines locked in by traffic and guess what... The trip beams broke again for 30 minutes or so. Finally after another 30 minutes in line he got his one run in and tied an LS1 Anniversary SS. Humidity was sick, there was fog and dew sitting on the ground. Bill did great for a first time racer:tu: We raced more on the way home with a Stang and Turbo RX-7. I was surprised to see Bill do a 140 flyby on me, he is crazy:d

Aside from the crappy conditions of their track and the little flub when someone hit one of their boxes and delayed us a half hour while in line, it was a great first outting for me and the L. did a 2.258 60-ft and 9.086 1/8.
As far as my mental capacity...what Terry fails to share with everyone was that I was just playing catchup with him and his new friends on 35, and I forgot how to operate my brakes as I caught them. :burnout:
Really enjoyed seeing everyone out there, in spite of the conditions and delays.
Thanks again, Terry, for the help with the L. Now I've just gotta step up on my end and pactice, so I can do it justice.
