I know that the mobile car wash can be a pain at times, but it can bring in some cash though. I used to was and detail cars for alot of the small no name car lots on weekends and after i got out of skool. It was fun but i got tired of driving all over the place.
Most of the big mobile car washers ive seen have a medium inclosed trailer with all there tools and such, and a large tent to work under.

Washing cars in the winter would suck. Changing oil is a LOW profit business in general. Plus you have to dispose of all the goop somewhere. There are quite a few of both in Dallas area. If you like that kind of work in the conditions of weather and traffic go for it.

It dose. I worked at a car wash on cooper for a year and a half. In the winter time soon as the cars got to the blowers that dry the cars off all the water would freeze. That and your hands and feet getting wet makes it colder.
Winter time we nooked towels in the microwave and summer threw them in the freezer

I have a buddy in Arlington that does mobile car detailing.. it doesnt suck in winter because he doesnt use water from a hose, he carries it with him so it is a bit warmer and uses QEW with it... anyway, he has a lot of high end cars now plus the regular stuff.. he works hard, makes a decent living and seems to be busy year round.. the only thing that messes him up is when it rains..
Do what you feel you need to do.. if you want some tips on starting this type of business go to www.autopia.org (http://www.autopia.org) and register.. its free... search and ask questions...
Good Luck
