I'm finally about to get my gauges and the lunar series seemed to be the obvious choice at first because they are backlite like the stock gauge cluster.

But, I was looking at the Autometer C2 series and some of them are cheaper than the lunar and they look pretty cool too. Does anybody use this series? Do they seem to go with the existing interior?

That's what I was wondering. The other thing is that the bezel looks like crome compared to the satin look of the lunar. I'm thinking the crome would probably stand out too much.

Where is everybody getting their gauges from. One of the best places I've found so far as far as both price and credibility is Jegs.

I got mine from Summit and i am running the Ultra Light series. They were not that pricy and they match my dash lights to a T. You might want to give them a look and see.

Are the Ultra Lites illuminated??? Looking at Autometer, it doesn't appear they are.

i like the cobalt series personally (not the c2) and i would be more motivated to get those because not everyone and their mom has them in their lightnings like the lunars (not that the lunars look bad or anything)

I like the lunar except for the fact that many of the gauges are not full sweep. If I add gauges, I want the needles to be able to move! I think the c2's look cool, but I don't know how much I want the blue light blinding me. If the ultra-lites illuminate... there might be another option.

They are. The bulb is behind the gauge face. I have a utlra lite (silver face) boost gauge so far with a green bulb cover and i like it.

Im getting most of my gauges from ebay. Theres some pretty good deals on there sometimes. Got a fuel gauge for 20 bucks. All it was missing was the socket for the bulb and had a very very small dent on the part of the gauge that is covered up. I figured autozone would have a socket that will work or i can make another socket work. I figured 20 bucks +shipping for a gauge that cost around 200 (i think) was pretty good deal.

Wow. I'll have to check out ebay.

I did find this site.

This guy takes a/f meters and modifies them so that they only read at wot. Thats the only time the meter is accurate anyhow, so this way you don't have that light bouncing around driving you crazy!

The only thing bad about ebay is that sometimes the price goes way over what its worth or what it is brand new.

I got the Phantom series gauges on a triple pillar pod setup(Air\Fuel,Trans Temp, Boost). They look great :eek2: ! Too me anyway. Terry(PR) did a great job on the install. They are all electrical except the Boost.

I know that some of the guages have a different color glow, but are all the guages from Autometer backlit in some way? In other words, will I be able to see all of the guages they make at night? Stupid question, but I was thinking about buying the guage pod setup from performance research online and they don't say much about what series the guage is.

I order whatever series or gauge the customer wants. Most Harleys including diesels run Standard Pro Comp autolites. Most Lightnings run Phantoms, some run Lunars. Lunar gauges have their faults they run hotter due to the luminecent source and burn out faster. Most have a different shade of green than one another. The only A/F gauge that luminates is the Coalt the rest are not luminated. These pics are just an example they come in several scales and sizes.Lunar
