Comcast is upgrading their service in the area. I'm now getting 2900 down and 200ish up for no additional cost. :nana2

I was getting 1700 down and 200ish up. For those of you on comcast, reboot your modem and check it out.

If you read the forums on www.dslreports.com (http://www.dslreports.com) they are upgrading area by area.

Sorry that I disagree but I understand your point of view based on your experience. I've built over 50 home networks and Linksys has always been the most reliable for me. Don't want to start a :throw: but I wanted to throw in my .02.

I love my Linksys products:tu: . What is this software upgrade? I have had service for about a year.

There are no software changes you need to make to your computer. Comcast is upgrading their networks to provide faster speeds of the data streaming to your computer and you can realize the changes by rebooting you modem.

If you unplug the power to your modem for a couple of minutes and then plug it back in, once all the lights sync on your modem, you should see an improvement in the download speed.

I have to disagree as well. I have done hundreds of home and small business networks and havent had any issues that could be tracked to Linksys hardware. Now that linksys is owned by Cisco it is bound to get even better....

Compared to some of the cheaper crap that is out there - like D link and Belkin etc Linksys is great. Linksys also enjoys the largest market share which means that if you have a problem you can go online and find a solution because other people have already had the same issue and the solution is out there....

Do ya think I'll still notice a difference if I'm still running an AMDK6 350MHz processor?:rll:
