Since I am the guy that should be keeping his eye out there for things that we might want to do, I thought I'd start posting some stuff that is coming. Some of the guys have enjoyed autocross over the years, so I figured I'd post up the 2004 schedule for Equipe Rapide Sports Car Club. They start up in February.

Per the ER website:
"An autocross is where one driver at a time negotiates a course laid out with pylons, testing their driving skill against the clock. This course generally is set up on a large parking lot area away from any obstacles. Speeds on these courses generally never exceed 70 MPH for the fastest modified cars. If you knock down a pylon there is a two second penalty added to your time.
"Cars are classed based on their performance abilities and modifications. Most people compete in the "stock" class. The stock class is for cars like they were delivered from the dealer except maybe different tires. Another popular class is called "street prepared". The street prepared class allows changes to a car like wider rims, different sway bars, or springs. Many enthusiasts compete in the "prepared" class. Prepared cars can have extensive changes like the removal of the interior and or extensive suspension change. "Modified" class cars are sometimes custom one of a kind cars that people have built or they can be true race cars that were designed for amateur road racing events."
