Low fuel economy, $70 today!

I feel trapped by high gas prices! Just filled up tonight at Chevron @ GSW. 22 gallons, 214 miles @ 1.77gal 39.40 total. This is my mostly highway tank just driving to work and hauling parts, tires etc... Avg mpg was 9.72MPG! I may have to do something about that.. I spent $70 bucks on gas today, $40 in the truck and $30 in the Vette avg mpg was 26.6:hammer: . More research on alternate fuels..

Terry when i first joined i was griping about the fuel milage and wonder about running regarler instead of preimum gas and it was you that gave me a break down about how a gallon of milk was 2.00 and a gallon of something else was 3.00 and how cheap preimum was over regarler and what a bargin gas was so dont bi**th brother you could be driven a yugo :eek2:

I average $150 a month for both the L and my wife's VW but the price for the L goes down the more it rains. My pride takes a hit but the L stays dry.

My commute to work is 6 miles each way if I go the long way.

I just dont look at my fuel usage. If i did id probly :vomit: . I drive alot, Out to burlseon everyday and out to dallas/carrolton on some weeknights and almost every weekend :eek2: :vomit:

Well I average 18 gals on a fillup and at 1.70 a gal that is 30.60.


Now for the math lesson.

30.60x2=61.20
61.20x4=244.80
That is what I spend on weekdays in a month on weekends you can put two or three tanks on top of that.

I avaerage around 15.8 and 16.3 MPG and that is running 11.7 A/F

'95 Stang S/C 331 Stroker about 8 mpg,
'00 L $33 a fill up (Toy Truck -and not a daily driver)
'96 Merc' Sable 380-400 miles per 15 gallon tank ---DAILY DRIVER and get about :D

Oh, that would suck:eek2: . Especially since it's hard to get the techs at companies like that to produce...LOL. There are so many guys, they can blend in with the crowd and hide from you.
