Before stepping out and buying a new crate engine, thought I might look around to see what else is available on the used market. I need a good (no junk please) base 351W to begin the build up for my ride... I think a Gen 1 351W would be a great starting point... btw, do those have hydraulic roller cams from the OEM?
Anyway, tell me what you've got... cash awaits.... :)

David,
All Gen I L engines (93-95) use flat tappet camshafts. Late 1993 and 94/95 trucks have engine blocks pre-drilled for roller lifters.
This one is sold but good info in the thread

Keep checking on NLOC.net and Corral.net like the thread mentioned

I have a short block with 72,000 miles on it, that I just took out of my 94 . It's in good shape.
Make me an offer.

Thanks for the info guys... found a complete '95 model running engine on ebay... guys wants 2450.00 and some shipping from NJ to get it here... but it's complete with computer, harness, intake, headers, etc... has aboyt 33000 miles, from a wrecked 95 Lightning... what do y'all think? Is that a fair deal?
Terry, I'd like some additional info on your short block...which casting is it? F4TE for the roller? Why did you take it out with only 72K... problems? or just going to a better combo? Red Oak is a lot closer to Irving than NJ... so I might be interested... give me a call when you have a minute and let's discuss...
