Looking to by a GEN 2 L. prefer an 01 but would consider a 99-00 thats been slightly modded. I am in the Tampa, FL area but have continual access to the Denton, TX area. You shouldnt have any problems finding a Gen 2 for 20k....

You might look closer to home.. There are lots coming on the market these days as leases are up and people are upgrading after 3-4 years of ownership

99-00 suposedly have stronger motor internals. Thats the rumor thats floating around atleast.

does anyone have an 99-00 rod to compare to an 01+? i have an 01 rod so that we can compare.

also, if you end up getting a 99-00 make sure it has had the intercooler recall done, most do, but a few havent im sure

I remember a post on f150online. Some body compared them and said that there the same. Others have said that the rods are the same but the strenght of them are different. But theres more 01+ motors blowing than 99-00. Might be because theres more 01+ Ls than 99-00.

Who knows. :confused: Its kind of like saying apples are better than oranges.

Try an Autorader online search. There are a lot of 99-00's for 16-20K, 01-02 from 22-25.

Check w/ "Madhouse" on Halo's board. Black 2000 Model w/ 37K on the clock.
Beautiful truck. It's has mild mods and runs high 12's.
It also took 1st or second in Houston's autorama.
The only reason he would consider selling is so that he can buy DSG 03 Model.
