You know guys...everytime I hear someone make a comment like this I just shake my head in amazement.

Usually it is the same fellows I read making posts about beating this guy or another running their truck down the streets.

Let's clear something up here. You are far more likely to screw something up, romping on the gas in a high RPM kick down, street racing than you are going down the 1/8th mile track.

And for you Ronald....specifically....you are far more likely to suffer an accident driving to work with a bunch of amatuer minivan warriors driving SUV's to disguise they're shame, than you are to get in an accident in the controlled environment of a race track.

If you guys are chicken sh!t of driving down the track or just scared to death of a little competition....just say it.:rll:

Quit with the lame arse excuses:eek: .

Can I get an AMEN, brother Ron! If you romp on it on the street, you can romp on it on the track more safely. If you're afraid of breaking something, don't mod it and start driving like my grandma.:throw: I think we all are afraid of breaking something, but I know if I break something I will get it repaired and be on the track again. I'm almost certain a stock truck will not break anything on the strip, period. Heck, heavily modded trucks (Uncle Rocks, in particular) have not broken anything on many, many runs down the track. So get your lazy asses out of the passenger seat and run.

Ronald, don't make me show you my Roy Orbison tatoo again....:nono:

Im not afraid to race at all. I raced the hell out of my old civics, go ahead and laugh and say ricer. But it would hold its own. I used to work at a import shop and have driven tons of customers turboed and N/A cars down the track. So being afraid isnt the deal.

But with how my luck is going lately i will break something on my L.

So make fun of me all you want. I dont give a **** !

First Mike....you have to spell it like this.... sh!t....or it will get baptised(edited).

The main point is that you are not going to break anything because you run your truck down an 1/8th mile track. It puts alot less stress on it than that street race you posted about in the other thread..

Come on Mike.....bring it to Denton....help Talon put the smack down on some of the other clubs.

First off the race in the other thread was in the loaner car im driving. My L is in the body shop for some paint repair and they didnt notice my rear axle was bent when i was in the accident, so there fixing it.

As for the spelling i said f!ck not sh!t :tu:

But i might race it just to shut you up.

Hell, I don't think it's just Ricers....I think it is more of an issue with inconsiderate mutha fockers. Last year at Ennis, it seemed like people had a hard time noticing a pile of tools and tires.

I thought about the cone thing also. I just never got around to it.

It was a good day. I think all of us that got eliminated either red-lighted or broke out. I lasted the first round and got bumped in the second when I broke out. Ran a new personal best 1/8th and then topped it steeping off the throttle and breaking out! I should have stayed in it, since I broke out, I should ahve broke out by a lot!!

Congrats to Dennis and Mike. Mike came in third in Super Muscle (aka stroking the love muscle) and Dennis won Street Muscle (I think that was the name of the class). Thumbs up to you guys :tu: :tu:

Terry C., FYI, the transmission was slamming into second hard. Dennis told me it was causing quite a stir in the audience :tu: .

It was a fun day at the track. 7 out of 9 entrants made it to the second round with the two losses coming from red lights. :D I had a minor controversy in my class, but things worked out the way they were suppose to and I met Chris Kryder (Ken's son) in the finals. Chris broke out and I took the win with .540 light. Class winners get a choice of TMCC apparel and a plaque so that is pretty cool.

The TMCC events are really fun and if you haven't been to one, you should definitely consider spending the day with us. Next one is at Redline Raceway in Royce City (near Greenville) on May 2.

Michael was on target pretty much all day and it was unfortunate that he redlighted (.491), but I can vouch for him getting a plaque for transfering into the semifinals.

Nobody brought a camera today so we don't have any pics or videos, but I think everyone had a good time. Also thanks to Derrick for coming up from south Arlington and supporting the club. :tu:

i got knocked out in the 3rd round by .09 . i had the antifreeze come out of the resivior , and it wiggled when i hit second from getting under my tire and that's all she wrote . then i got beat by a 6sec car in the roc . in the 3rd round .

i'm very proud of my son . there was a mix up , and when all was said and done he was given the oppertunity to have a by run but chose to race the guy and still beat him to advance to the finals against dennis . way to go chris .:tu:
