We got our Lightning about 2 months ago and we have a couple of issues with it:

1) Anytime you turn the wheel all the way to the right a loud popping is heard. (Doesn't do it to the left)
2) The radio has almost no range and the stations are always fading in and out.
3) Occasionally there is a high pitched buzz coming from under the dash.

Anyone else have these problems? We are going to take it in to Ford, but I like to have some info beforehand.

The #1 issue is the "clunk" problem (lower control arm bolt walking in the slotted hole) Do a search for "clunk" or popping noise and you'll find your answer.

The #2 issue sounds like the antenna is not plugged into the head unit completely or not at all

#3 I don't know

1) What WhiteBeast said.

2) Mine doesn't get very good reception either. Try this. With the radio on, push the #3 and #6 button together. The radio will go into test mode. Then press the #3 button. This should show you the signal strength. To turn off the test mode, turn the power off on the radio, then back on.

3) Its the radio. The deck has a fan on it. When you turn off the radio, it is really noticable. It will turn off eventually. I have heard of some people complaining to ford. Some of them recieved new radios, and the issue was solved. Maybe the new units didn't have the fan. I'm not sure.

I have the "Herb's Washers" installed in my truck, and occasionally I get a terrible metalic creaking noise at full lock, left or right. After slapping some grease on the sterring stops, it goes away for several months.

Never had the other problems.
