i was pretty excited about my 8.2 run, but its just got that need for speed feeling building up inside me...

here are really the only mods I had left on my wish list, will these alone get me there along with practice at the track (my best ever 60' time is 1.9)

efan/pump
160 or 170 thermo (which is better)
long tubes
high flow cats
wild or bassani catback

the LT, high flow cats, and exhaust may get you a bit more.. But I wouldn't expect anything under 8.1

but iv heard the efan also helps with hp and et... could that get me over the hump??

not to mention, my best 60' was 1.9... if i could get that down to 1.7 or 1.8 that would do it huh?

Yeah, but you won't see 1.7 or 1.8 without slicks...

Scott, Congrats on the 8.20's. That's pretty damn strong, especially on F1's! Here's my take on your Q....

*Slicks and a converter(stall) will get you a solid 2 tenths, maybe a little more. If you're looking for more ET(elapsed time), then that's the best way to get there. Cost: $600-650(slicks and wheels), $500-700 for an Art Carr Single clutch 2400rpm converter installed(NEW).

*Long Tubes will give you about 10 or so HP across the board (give or take a couple). Maybe worth a tenth and 1-2 mph in trap speed. Cost: Around 2K for a complete system installed(NEW). The LT's are worth more HP when you start pushing more air through them.

*E-fan helps by removing reciprocating weight from the front of the motor. Thus "freeing" up HP. Worth 5-10HP and a tenth or so and 1-1.5 mph trap speed. Cost: Around $650-750 installed with Cobra water pump(NEW).

These are just roundabouts prices, so don't go quoting me. Just trying to give you some ballpark figures. The culmination of all of those parts should get you in the 7.70-7.80 range at b/w 87 & 89mph in the 1/8, which will translate into 12.20-12.30's at b/w 109-112 in the 1/4 (give or take a couple tenths dependent upon air conditions). As the weather heats up in the coming months, the more you do, the less gains you'll notice because the air will suck. Don't be surprised if you add something, then go out to the track on a 90* day, and she actually slows down! HOWEVER, when it cools back off in the fall...HOLD ON! That's just the nature of the beast.;)

Later,
Rob

He was running slicks, I gave him my old slicks and rims to have so he won't burn up the F1's!knana

I didn't see any drop in my track times from the e-fan.
It is nice to have to to use as a tool to run consistent and to be able to cool down the engine faster between runs.
