Yet there are two brand new '04 Lightnings (they even classify them as the "Heritage Edition"... just like the old style F150) up at Bob Tomes Ford in McKinney. Black and Silver.

While my favorite color is the DSG, I may seriously consider trading my white '99 for a new '04.

I don't know if they're dealing on them, but I'd have to think so...what with the '05-06 truck coming and the fact gas prices are climbing.

Ford is making the 04' L and a good price for them is around 28,500. That is x-plan cost, if you can get it.

Maybe the '04s are hard to find, or already been bought up? Reason I wonder about this is b/c none of the local dealers seem to list them in inventory when I do dealer searches for '04 Ls.

I really like my truck, which is why I'd consider getting an '04 if I could find a good deal in the color I want. The '06 or whatever will be a cool truck, but it will take more than 500hp to outrun the current version with _very minor mods_ as the new F150 is ~800lbs heavier than the current one, from what I've read.

I guess the new ones have lead in the frame?

Myself and a few other members have '04s. If you can still find an 03 somewhere, they are going dirt cheap. I'm not sure why you can't find the '04 online, I found them online at North Central, Middlekauf, and a few others. I do believe some of the websites show them as just an f150. Look for the heritage edition, supercharged engine, and the price... you'll know its a L. Better hurry up though, I heard they quit making the '04 L this month

Wes,

You must be driving that Chevy too much. Its going to fry your brain man.

Yes the 04s exist. I did some searching through www.svt.ford.com (http://www.svt.ford.com) just last week because I have been dreaming of an 04 Sonic Blue (will never happen but I can dream right?) I did see a few DSGs out there. As a matter of face the Ford dealership in Denton showed having 2 of them and I think the other might have been the one in Grapevine. Good luck.

P.S. Quit smoking your lunch. ;)

Hey Sam,

Good to hear from you. Yeah, I've been spending too much time in my 'Vettes. :d So much so that I must've let some poor sap on one of these boards get the best of me when he told me that there were no '04 Ls being made. Then when I went to www.ford.com (http://www.ford.com) an did some searches I couldn't find any.

But after doing more searching today, I found them all over DFW.

What's a fair price on a very clean (interior looks new), '99L with 43k miles?

And Sam... even though I've gone over to the dark side with my last couple of sports car purchases, I still love my L and will always bleed some Ford blue.;)

Wes,

I just have to give you some ribbing every now and then buddy. Its all in fun. For the value on your truck I would just do the normal NADA and KBB valuations and go from there. Good to see you back on the board!

I hope that they exist because my wife is driving one of them right now!

I think that they stopped production the first week in April.

You may be right. :crying: Go to http://www.svt.ford.com/newspowerlease.asp

The article starts with the 2004 year model, and then refers to 2006 SVT Lightnings and '07 Mustang Cobra's.
