Well, call me a schmuck or whatever, but I'm again Lightning-less...

Flipped the 02 for a 03 Mercury Marauder...

Is it as fast? No. Neck snappin' torque? No.

...but it will be... 4.10's are getting installed this week. Pictures forth-coming...

...as much as I love the Lightning, it's just not going to be practical with the kids, and I didn't want to go the harley route...

Those Flipps, as you call them, are very expensive. Make up your mind.

Uh, I said you could call me a schmuck, not give me a lesson in economics.

I think I can afford the net $780 loss I took. Though I appreciate your concern for MY check book.

Logan,

Who is installing your gears? I have a set of 373's I want to get installed but not sure who can handle the job, not a fan of randomly calling shops and asking someone to do it without knowing they do good work.

Any help is appreciated.

John Eagle is doing my gear install. Al is their resident Gear guy, he got the pinion depth on Sonny's car right the first time outta the gate...

Rob Hunt is another good choice. He charges $150 for a diff setup. He's up in Howe, TX... He was a Ford tranny mech for 20 years before opening his own shop. I trust him with all my major Cougar stuff.

Hummm, Logan
You bought that "because" of the twins?

OK, how is baby "erP" gonna look in that back seat? Up under the child seats that you won't notice until the smell hits you?

This is gonna be a "family" car? ..........:eek2:
WHOA ......... Nice

Logan is gonna be busy cleanin' .........
BUT< jeez, he's got nothing else to do ........:hammer:

Wish ya the best, Dude

I'm sorry Logan, I did not mean to get in your business. Enjoy the car.

Nice car. I would like to see it make some passes on the track:burnout: :burnout: :burnout:
but I would also like it with some PLATINUM window tint
it looks really good on fancy cars like that one:tu: :tu:

Baha - reflective tint. Only if it is at weird 45 degree angles!!!

Nice car Logan!!!

Or how 'bout that tint with the holographic colors that change with the sun. What is a Mercury Murader(sp) and what't so special about it. I'd never expect Mercury to produce anything performance wise.

...nevermind, I just saw the post with the link, Not bad.

It's got a slightly re-cammed version of the 2001 Cobra motor in it, with major performance suspension upgrades, hyrdo-formed frame, aluminum control arms and K member, bunch of other cool stuff.

The thing handles like it's on rails. Handles much better than my L's ever did...

MadMax
07-16-2002, 09:42 AM
on rails eh...LOL. try lowering it a tad or two...

Besides..your L's looked more like 4X4's...LOL :hammer:

Time to see the evil lab or something... :D

Logan, that is a sweet looking car. :tu:

You gonna' let me drive it so I can compare it to the '96 Impala SS? Preferably before the baby urp gets imbedded in the seats.

Do we know anyone local who can do Tranny rebuild ? I am thinking about going to Level 10 on way back to Dallas....

Front: Independent Short- and Long-Arm (SLA), coil-over-shock springs, with Tokico® (Registered trademark of Tokico® LTD.) monotube double acting, gas pressurized hydraulic shocks, and 28mm stabilizer bar.

Rear: Solid-axle with Four-bar link with PrecisionTrac™ Watt's linkage, load leveling air springs with monotube double-acting, gas-pressurized hydraulic shock absorbers and 21mm stabilizer bar

Between the Short/Long Aluminum control arms and coil overs up front and the 4 link suspension in the rear, yeah... It handles incredibly well. I was pretty surprised how well it works... Pulls .88 on the skidpad...

Moon...You're not gonna confiscate my vehicle for official business are ya? :)

Well, I was really just thinking about a friendly flogging around the neighborhood, but if you'd prefer I can sure arrange a little T&E time, see how it does with J turns and slamming through medians. :eek2:
