I had something similar to that happen to me. I went down to a dealership to look at (don't laugh) a used Mitsubishi GT3000VR4 when I first got to Dallas. It looked like it was in really good shape, but I'm no mechanic. The dealer offered to let me take it to a mechanic to check it out, but I ran out of lunchtime minutes so I planned to return at 5pm.

Of course the guy couldn't hold it for me. I didn't put any kind of deposit on it or anything, but by the time I got back to the dealership after work, someone had already come in and bought it.

It all worked out though.

Had I gotten that car, my entire car buying life would have been different and it's unlikely I would have a Lightning. :burnout:
