Well, I tried to post this picture back in January but got the dreaded red x.
This was taken when the 250 shelled the transmission, and had to use the L to go get supplies. There is a little over 5000 pounds on the trailer.:d

I bet you are trying to copy the UBB code from the gallery AND use the picture button here ( just like I just tried - and I should have known better :crying: )
Its either OR - All the picture button does is add the IMG tags that the UBB code from the gallery already contained...
Thats a great picture.... Makes my tranny hurt ...

No one believes me when I tell them that I towed my old Fox-body Mustang to numerous race venues with my '99L. With a load-leveling hitch, it was phenomenal for a short-wheelbase truck. Easily at 5000+lbs with the TrackMaster trailer I was using.
Heck, I'd unbolt the trailer and race the car AND the truck the same weekend. :D
It got 11mpg while towing, too. The Gen 2 tows a lot better than my old '94 L did.

I towed a old Jeep 4X4 here on a heavy trailer from Missouri (400miles) (my brothers use it to haul their 10,000lb bobcat around). It probably weighed close to 6000lbs. Plus all my sh... :nono: ..oops......crap loaded in the jeep and the bed of the truck was full too. It rode really smooth except around corners. The short wheelbase caused the trailer to push the ass end of the L sideways at about 80mph, its a really strange feeling but it was totally stable.
Here's what is funny, I got 9.5 miles to the gallon with the trailer full or empty. Exact same mileage, 1/2 as much weight. Go figure.
I have also had about 1500lbs in bed at one time. I was hauling some CO2 tanks that were 5ft tall from OK City. I had the weight pretty well centered on the frame (pushed close to the cab) and the truck sat just barely jacked up in the rear. Rode way smoother than empty and even with the weight up high it still handled good (swayed a little).
Wish I had taken pictures of both times. Oh well!
And whoever said it is right---It is still a truck after all!!!

Hmmm, maybe I should become a supporting vendor, and start hawking my 2" drop kits for $25 a bale.
