I have not decided 100% to do this, but was wondering what all is involved. Is it just the lenses or the lights as well if I wanted to swap from the '04 tail lights to the '99 or '00 type lights?

I will have to dig up my F-150 manual, but I can't even tell how to pull the assembly apart. :hammer:

Be careful with the screws that are used. I think they changed at least once and if they are too long they will puncture the back of the lense

Yeah, two of the screws are a little longer... so pay attention.... Just go get new plain tail lights for an 01 up if ya want red ones. When I replaced mine once, I put the shorter screw in all four! Works just as well!!!! If I remember rightly the 99's have 3 bulbs but the 01's up are 2 bulb machines. I don't remember about 00's.

Installed some '03 F150 lenses today. Looks 100x better, for my tastes.
