SRT-10 Test Drive

Last saturday I went with my Dad up to Lithia Dodge off of 121 and test drove a Ram SRT-10 (after my dads credit was approved). The sticker was around 45,000, but subject to raise in price even after TT&L. They said they usually don't do test drives, but since I had a Lightning they wanted my dad and I to see "The power differences" (B.S.) The only...only two things I liked was the T-56 Tranny with the Hurst shifter and the push button start. Other than that it was a rip off!!!!! They even told me that if you put a trailer hitch on it, it oids the warranty since they have traction bars built into the leaf springs. Although the viper did sit clean in the truck and the hood looked nice, over all was the most over priced truck on the road!!! I'm glad I have my Lightning so I can whoop the SRT-10's ASS!! Oh they also preached on how it was the "Fastest Production Truck" and can beat a Lightning, but when aksed what my old Lightning ran I told them the ram had no chance, gotta love blowers.

I got to drive one a while back as wel. I posted an opinion on this forum http://www.talonclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4387&highlight=srt-10+opinion. I had lots of opinions about it. It is cool, to say the least, but my Lightning is funner to drive as far as I am concerned.

If I pay 45k for a truck it should damn sure be able to tow occasionally.

It is and will increasingly become evindent as a huge flop for Mopar. They are already under MSRP withing two months of release.:Bullshit

My Dad bought one and I will agree that the six speed is fun but the power does not seem to be there. Dont get me wrong the truck is nice, it handles very well on smooth pavemnet and the brakes are awsome, hell I even like the interior. If there were no Lightning I would try and figure out how to buy one. BTW my Dad paid 1500 under sticker.
