Not like having my windshield caved in at 9am wasn't bad enough. I had to hurry back to town and sell off the gen 2 http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/edoom/sad2.gif . They say sometimes the right thing is the hardest one. This had to be it for me. I felt like I was taking a pet to be put to sleep. I parked her in the lot and gave her a kiss on the steering wheel and on the hood to say goodbye. There are more good memories in that truck than most anything else in my life. It is the soul reason I am doing what I am doing now and talking to all of you. I remember meeting Doug for the first time at Chucks Cruise in Grapevine and him offering me a ride in his "chipped" Lightning and reccomending me to PSP products. I bought it without ever test driving it. They just let me set in it with the engine running. I idled it home about 60mph and planned on keeping it stock forever. I didn't drive it in rain for the first 6 months. It was my first new truck purchase. I was amazed at the trucks capabilities on track against the Cobra R, and about anything else I put it up against. We had a connection rarely felt between owner and machine. I never put a scratch on her during my wild 140+ bonzai runs. I set faster lap times in the L than both of my C5's. It was one heck of a 33K miles. Gone but not forgotten:( .

I had good times in that truck too. I never took mine up to 140 before. I knew that you trusted me enough to meet you back at the shop safely. Just kidding. As much as I hate to say it, I liked your truck too. I thought that it was the most badass thing to pull up at a stop light and let the cam rock the truck. Mine will have a new long block in it sooner or later. If I hit the 120 million, I will buy you another one.

Yeah I had my truck then by a week or two. Mine still had paper plates on it the first time I smoked a cop down I-20. He was in a new Impala midsize V6 cruiser and the paper plate was in the door pocket so I was essentially unmarked. He light me up going up the Spur 408 hill and I dropped the hammer on her @ 600 miles. He didn't have any torque to pull the big hill and I was over 120 by the top and gone. I knew from that day she was born to run. She never let me down when I needed her the most. I wish I were rich enough to keep the vehicles that are/were special to me. I had only made my 7th payment by the time Sept. 11th struck. I really worried about keeping it at that point as well. Not knowing what the economy would do after that day.

There's just something about the bond between a man and his prized vehicle(s).:bows
I'm still schooling Laney on the "Suzy-bond" we have.
My parents and brother all have an appreciation of the L after having finally driven/ridden in it.
Sept. 11 has affected us ALL in alot of different ways.
I remember that day well. :(
